Narendra Bhattarai, FCA, MBA with distinction, CPFA
Immediately after passing MBA with distinction, he started his career as the Lecturer in the Central Department of Management, Tribhuvan University and was involved in teaching and professional research in financial Management and allied areas. This opportunity was availed as he was the batch topper with record marks and was also awarded with two gold medals. After some years, he opted to take the challenge of the practical management as the Management Practitioner and joined banking sector. Within a span of few years, he became the Chief Executive Officer of 2 Banks – NB Bank and NCC Bank for more than 10 years. He was also honoured by ‘Manager of the Year Award’ in 1999 by Management Association of Nepal. He was also the President of Nepal Bankers’ Association for 4 years.
Since November 2006 he has been in full time practice through the accounting firm N Bhattarai & Co, Chartered Accountants. In the month of May 2021, N Bhattarai & Co and Kuber & Co merged and name of the firm styled as ‘Kuber N Bhattarai & Co’ has been emerged. Now, he is the Principal Partner of Kuber N Bhattarai & Co. During his professional practice, he has been working as an auditor and freelance consultant in the area of Public Financial Management. During this period, he worked for ADB, World Bank, UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF, WFP, SDC, LGCDP, EPF, CIT, BPKIHS, NEAT/USAID, Cowater/OAGN, PAF/WB, TDF, NGOs and INGOs basically on the area of public sector revenue management, government accounting and auditing, fiduciary risk management, financial audit, performance audit and NFRS and NPSAS implementation. He has also decided to pursue his future career in the area of Public Financial Management in the context of restructuring of system of Government in Nepal.
